Assistant Professor – Tenure Track
Department of Computer Science

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Support the growing Cybersecurity Program
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cybersecurity, computer science, and computer information systems
  • Participate in course and curriculum development
  • Teach laboratories and maintain equipment associated with them
  • Establish a productive research program involving undergraduate and graduate students
  • Advise students and provide service to the department, college, and University



Required Qualifications 

  • Ph.D. in computer science, computer information systems, electrical or computer engineering, or a closely-related discipline. (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university)
  • Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity
  • Potential for excellent teaching of courses in cybersecurity, computer science, and computer information systems at both undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Experience working with hardware, networking (wired and wireless) and firmware
  • Potential for establishing an active research program specializing in computer and information security capable of involving both undergraduate and graduate students
  • Experience teaching at the college or university level as a graduate assistant, instructor or above, or relevant industrial experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community
  • Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multicultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
