The Computer Science Department at Stonehill College invites applicants for a tenure track assistant professor appointment to begin July 2018.  The department offers a B.S. in computer science as well as courses for non-majors.  The department also participates in a dual degree program in computer engineering with The University of Notre Dame.  The successful candidate will join a department committed to fostering diversity among students and faculty.

We seek applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduates. We are particularly interested in candidates who have expertise in machine learning and artificial intelligence and who will also contribute to an interdisciplinary program in data science.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in computer science or a related discipline. Undergraduate teaching experience is desirable. The position involves teaching, advising and maintaining an active research agenda. Primary teaching duties include teaching introductory computer science courses as well as several upper level electives, preferably in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Opportunities to work with students on research projects will also be available to candidates interested in this prospect.
