The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) (http://engineering.unl.edu/ece) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of cybersecurity. The ECE Department is co-located in two cities, Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska, which are about one hour apart, with approximately 2/3 of the faculty in Lincoln and 1/3 in Omaha.

The impetus for creating this position is to expand the department’s interdisciplinary research portfolio and strengthen collaboration of the department with the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Nebraska Strategic Research Institute, which is a University Affiliated Research Center supporting the missions of the US Strategic Command at Offutt AFB at Bellevue, Nebraska.

The successful candidate for this tenure-track Assistant Professor position should have engineering expertise in areas related to cybersecurity fields including cyber defensive/trustworthy systems, network security, cyber intrusions/detections & forensics, cybersecurity for various embedded systems/infrastructures, or cryptography.

Requirements

Minimum Required Qualifications: Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field, and willingness to collaborate across disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications: Record of strong scholarly achievement; demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education; relevant postdoctoral or industrial experience, and record of grant applications and funding.
