The Business Administration Department in the Leo J. Meehan School of Business at Stonehill College invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems beginning Fall 2018.  This person would join the department of 21 full-time faculty with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students.  This is an on-campus position and a qualified candidate must teach on the physical Stonehill College campus.  The Business Administration Department at Stonehill College is AACSB accredited and offers majors in Accounting, Finance, General Management, Management Information Systems, International Business, and Marketing.  The department also offers minors in Data Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, and Entrepreneurship. 

We seek applicants with a strong interest in teaching and scholarship in the fields in Management Information Systems as well as the desire to participate in the expansion of the College’s Data Science programs.  Applicants should have the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate MIS, data science, and business courses.  Courses may include: Decision Support Systems and Business Intelligence (BUS 308), Management Information Systems (BUS 310), Data Communications/Networking/Security (BUS 307), Introduction to Data Science (DSC 101), Quantitative Analysis (BUS 206), and First-Year Business Experience (BUS 101).  Course descriptions can be found here: http://catalog.stonehill.edu/content.php?catoid=9&navoid=410

Requirements

Applicants must have earned a Ph.D., DBA, or DPS in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field from an AACSB accredited institution.  (Note, if the degree is not in business, the AACSB requirement does not apply).  A strong preference will be given to applicants who possess at least five years of both professional and academic experience in the areas of Management Information Systems and Data Science/Analytics as well as experience teaching MIS/technology concepts to business students. Applicants should have significant and relevant peer-reviewed publications, a commitment to ongoing research productivity and demonstrate participation in the broader academic community in terms of journal review responsibilities, participation in academic conferences, and other academic roles.

A commitment to service to the Department, School, and College is also essential.  The applicant must show a strong interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students and enjoy working closely with student advisees to establish academic and professional goals.
