The Computer Science program at CI is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. As we are poised to start a new major in Mechatronics Engineering, we are especially interested in candidates in this field, or closely related areas. In particular, we encourage candidates who have experience with drones, unmanned vehicles, mobile robotics, and software engineering. 
 
We also welcome applicants in other areas of Computer Science, in particular Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Database Management Systems, Operating Systems and Networks, Theory and Algorithms.
 
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, pursuing funded research and scholarly publications, assisting in the development of new academic programs and pursuing appropriate industrial collaboration.

Requirements

  • A PhD from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • We encourage candidates who have experience with drones, unmanned vehicles, mobile robotics, and software engineering. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, pursuing funded research and scholarly publications, assisting in the development of new academic programs and pursuing appropriate industrial collaboration.
  • As a condition of employment, this position will require a background check. The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
