The Department of Computer Science at San Jose State University invites applications for four tenure-track positions.

Responsibilities:
The department’s faculty members are expected to teach, supervise, and advise students in both the undergraduate and graduate programs, and to establish a successful research program related to his/her field of interest. Additionally, faculty members will participate in department, college, and university committee and other service assignments. Candidates must address the needs of a student population of great diversity – in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and academic preparation – through course materials, teaching strategies and advising.

Salary Range:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Starting Date: August 17, 2018.
Eligibility: Employment is contingent upon proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Requirements


Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have earned their Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field and have demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship.
  • Applicants should have awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with teaching, research, and/or industry experience in the following areas: Data Structures and Algorithms, Data Science, Databases, Computer Graphics, Human Computer Interaction, Cybersecurity, and Computer Science Education.
  • Special attention will be given to candidates with teaching and research experience in interdisciplinary fields.
