ROLE of the POSITION

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track/tenured, Associate/Full Professor position in Big Data commencing Fall 2018.  A distinguished record in undergraduate and graduate computer science education, well-funded scholarly research, and service qualifications to the Big Data community will be required for appointment as a tenured Associate/Full Professor.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Ph.D. in Computer Science from a regionally accredited college or university.  The applicants are expected to have an extensive research and funding in Big Data applications in health/bioinformatics.  In addition, the applicants should have established research records in one or more areas of Big Data including data mining, data analytics, data visualization, database modeling, machine learning, scalable computing, software and hardware systems for big data processing, and distributed/parallel computing.

SALARY RANGE              

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions.  Position is contingent upon funding.
