Department of Computer Science
University of Copenhagen, Denmark
The position is open from 1 February 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Department of Computer Science at the University of Copenhagen (DIKU) is seeking candidates for a professorship in Software Engineering. The new professor is expected to make a significant contribution to leadership in the Software Engineering discipline within the Department of Computer Science. The professor must ensure that software engineering research, teaching, and outreach activities are thriving, and act as a mentor to young researchers.
Outstanding applicants in all areas of software engineering will be considered, but research areas of special interest include:
  • Requirements engineering
  • Empirical software engineering
  • Software engineering management
  • Software development process
  • Software modeling, architecture, and design
  • Software testing and verification
We are looking for an experienced researcher with an innovative mindset and intellectual curiosity to strengthen and complement the research profile of the department's Human-Centred Computing Section (HCC). The section's research is concerned with the theory and practice of how people engage with computing. Currently our focus is on computer-supported collaborative work, health informatics, human-computer interaction, and information systems development
The hiring of a new full professor is a part of the Department’s efforts to strengthen our research and teaching in Software Engineering. The next step in the plan is to hire one or two assistant or associate professors of software engineering. This will be decided upon after consultation with the new full professor, who is expected to head the research group and provide leadership and mentoring to the younger researchers.
