Position Summary

West Chester University of Pennsylvania's Department of Computer Science (http://www.cs.wcupa.edu/) invites applicants for two Tenure-Track Assistant Professor or Tenure-Track Associate Professor positions, to begin in August 2018. Actual starting salary and rank is commensurate with experience.

The Computer Science Department values faculty who balance excellent teaching with active scholarship. Responsibilities include teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, advising students, conducting research, and participating in academic and professional service activities. The normal teaching load is four classes per semester. Candidates should be able to teach a wide variety of undergraduate courses for the Computer Science major and graduate courses in their area(s) of expertise.

The Computer Science Department is accredited by ABET and recognized by the NSA as one of the national centers of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in computer science or a related field at the time of appointment, as well as a commitment to excellence in teaching and a strong, demonstrated research record appropriate with West Chester University's scholarly academic standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong candidates from all areas will be considered. Preference will be given to those applicants with teaching experience and a background in one of Operating Systems, Algorithms, Architecture, Theory, and Big Data.
