Tenure-track Position in Data Mining and Machine Learning for Systems Engineering and Cyber & Cyber-Physical Security

One of Canada's most innovative Faculties, the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science (ENCS) is home to about 8,500 engineering and computer science students and a faculty complement of 208 faculty members. The Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering (CIISE) has a faculty complement of 19 professors active in various areas of Information Systems Engineering, Information Systems Security, and Quality Systems Engineering. The Institute is dedicated to multidisciplinary research and training of graduate students in information technology and its applications, offering master’s degrees in Information Systems Security and in Quality Systems Engineering, and a doctoral degree in Information and Systems Engineering. The Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering seeks outstanding candidates for one tenure-track position in the areas of Data Mining and Machine Learning for Systems Engineering and Cyber and/or Cyber-Physical Security, and related areas. The appointment is at the rank of Assistant Professor but exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level may also be considered.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and possess a strong expertise in data mining, machine learning, data science, with applications to systems engineering, cyber security, cyber-physical security, privacy protection, with a demonstrated ability to work in collaborative multidisciplinary settings. A strong commitment to research excellence, supervision of graduate students, and teaching excellence. A successful candidate is expected to provide academic leadership, conduct independent and superior scholarly research, establish a strong externally-funded research program and demonstrate industrial applications of her/his research activities. Membership or eligibility for membership in a Canadian professional engineering association, preferably in the province of Quebec, is required. The language of instruction at Concordia is English; however, knowledge of French is an asset.
