The Department of Cyber Intelligence and Security (CIS) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant or associate professor level. Interest and ability to teach undergraduate CIS courses in subjects such as network security, computer forensics, network forensics, modern security tools and participate in the development of our cyber lab is essential.  Professional and scholarly activities are expected in addition to service such as advising and mentoring students.  The department will be adding a Masters degree program and qualified faculty will be able to design, develop and deliver courses for graduate students.  Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communications skills and a strong command of the English language are required.

Embry-Riddle is a small, private, residential university in the mountains of Arizona; faculty/student interactions are highly valued and is central to the appeal of the university. The CIS department is rapidly growing and has a state of the art laboratory with isolated network facilities supporting a variety of activities and research opportunities.  Collaboration with other departments is encouraged, as well as with organizations in the area including the Arizona Cyber Threat Response Alliance boasting over 100 companies small and global.  Our fully accredited program has already placed students at organizations such as GoDaddy, T-Mobile, Textron, Mitsubishi and the NSA.

Prescott is rated one of the most desirable destinations in the Southwest. At 5000 feet above sea level, Prescott boasts a mild climate, clean air and wonderful outdoor opportunities nearby. The Grand Canyon and Sedona are close offering spectacular hiking beyond the miles of trails locally.  Families enjoy good schools, and we have no difficulty with traffic. Prescott boasts the world’s oldest continuously running rodeo and largest collection of western art. It is 100 miles north of Phoenix and 20 degrees cooler in summer!

Requirements

The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field. Preferred areas of expertise include network computing, malware analysis, threat intelligence and hunting, data mining, although other areas will be considered as warranted. Anticipated start date will be August 1, 2018.
