The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia Vancouver campus invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position at the interface of artificial intelligence/machine learning and medicine. We are seeking candidates to join a vibrant and broad artificial intelligence research community across UBC, with opportunities to participate in faculty-wide collaborations and initiatives such as the Center for Applied Internet Data Analysis (CAIDA) (https://caida.ubc.ca/), and Biomedical Imaging and Artificial Intelligence (BMI-AI) (https://bmiai.ubc.ca).

Successful applicants will be expected to develop an independent research program that complements the department's existing strengths, assume teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and serve the department and university in various capacities. Applicants must demonstrate clear interest in and potential to achieve excellence in research, teaching, and service to the academic community. Publications in high-impact conferences and journals across both fundamental methodology development and translation to impact healthcare through integration of various data sources, including but not limited to electronic health records, imaging and genomics, will be one of the key selection criteria.

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and must be eligible to obtain a full or limited licence with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia within five years of appointment.
