ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Conducts computer research in a high dimensional and data intensive computer processing environment; independently conducts complex experiments; analyzes and interprets data; prepares manuscripts for publication; prepares grant applications and progress reports; orders equipment and supplies; presents findings at local and national meetings; utilizes various laboratory equipment; prepares reports of research findings; independently plans, designs, and conducts experimental protocols designed to meet research objectives; provides scientific expertise in executing research programs; interprets research findings and analyzes data; instructs and trains lower level laboratory personnel and students; supervises lower level laboratory personnel; prepares manuscripts for publication; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Ph.D. in computing from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and five years professional experience in a computing research laboratory. 

Experience in model driven Al architecture to enable the rapid design, development, and operation of Al and IoT applications and research experience in engineering optimization, constraint handling, multi-objective optimization, evolutionary algorithms, neutral network, derivative free optimization, robotics and manufacturing, or machine learning is preferred.  Experience with in aviation systems and publications in the area of optimization is preferred. Experience with development tools for design optimization and Al techniques such as evolutionary algorithms and neural networks preferred. 
 

 

NOTE:  These positions are grant funded.  Duration of grant not expected to exceed more than two years.
