The NSF-funded Coherent Ising Machines project based at Stanford University is recruiting a full-time postdoctoral scholar in combinatorial optimization and its applications (https://cohesing.org).  The Coherent Ising Machines project is led by Prof. Hideo Mabuchi (Applied Physics, Stanford University) and includes collaborating groups from Stanford, Caltech, Cornell, USRA/NASA and NTT PHI Research Labs, with planned additional interactions with industry applications experts.  The successful candidate will consolidate and coordinate efforts across the project team to develop and benchmark new optimization applications for the Coherent Ising Machine architecture.

Requirements

Doctoral degree in computer science, applied/computational mathematics, or related field; strong organization and communication skills; experience in foundations and/or applications of non-convex optimization.
