**AORTICAND PERIPHERAL** offers treatment for
vascular abdominal and thoracic aortic disease and interventional devices used
to treat Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) through catheter-based procedures and
diagnostic technologies.


This engineering position will require
high level technical and leadership skills to advance the development of
innovative products to treat aortic disease. The engineer will apply
technical principles, theories, and new concepts to collaboratively solve
technical problems. The engineer will participate in cross-functional and
cross-site product development teams and collaborate with other Medtronic and
external engineering groups.


**A Day in the Life**


+ Implement general design,engineering, and scientific principles to drive the development of productsused in the treatment of aortic disease;

+ Apply advanced problemsolving skills, critical thinking, technical principles, and theories to solvecomplex problems;

+ Lead the collection,analysis, and modeling of user needs, business needs and use cases and transformthem into high quality stakeholder and system requirements;

+ Lead the analysis ofidentified design solutions to ensure fulfillment of needs, use cases and requirements;

+ Generate and approverequirements and specifications for all aspects of product concept; ensure thatall systems are developed in harmony and support each other.

+ Provide expertise andleadership in planning and conducting user evaluations of product concepts;

+ Provide expertise andleadership in identifying and addressing technical risks, product hazards andfailure analysis;

+ Provide mentorship andcoaching to engineers and product development teams;

+ Establish and advocate forbest practices and continuous improvement to mature systems engineering knowledgeand processes;

+ Develop solid understandingof targeted therapies and clinical applications;

+ Lead, coordinate, execute,and document system analysis and design activities;

+ Provide technical review oncurrent product development activities;

+ Identify, and leadcollaborations with internal and external engineering groups.


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 7 years experience in product development or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years experience


**Nice to Have**


+ Expertise in the medicaldevice industry; cardiovascular experience preferred

+ High level proficiency oftechnical principles, theories, and design concepts in the field of medicaldevice design

+ Proven leadership inimplementing systems engineering tools and practices in the development of newproducts

+ Knowledge of statisticalanalysis software and applications

+ Excellent communicationskills (written and verbal)

+ Ability to work well in ateam

+ Self-starter and driver able to execute effectively and work efficiently
