The start date for these positions is the 2021-2022 academic year.

The Opportunity

Liberty University seeks adjunct faculty to teach and facilitate classes for its online IT, Computer Science, and Cybersecurity programs. Faculty will facilitate learning through online course instruction to students enrolled in the following programs.

     The undergraduate online programs include B.S. in Computer Science Cybersecurity, B.S. in Information Systems (with cognates in Accounting Information Systems, Data Networking, Database, and Information Assurance), B.S. in Information Technology (with cognates in Application and Database Development, Data Networking and Security, Gaming Design, and Web and Mobile Programming), and B.S. in Healthcare Informatics.

     The graduate online programs include M.S. in Cybersecurity, M.S. in Information Systems, M.S. in Information Technology, and M.S. in Healthcare Informatics.

     Faculty members will teach courses within Liberty University’s Online School of Business each semester as assigned and based on the needs of the program.

     Adjunct faculty are required to meet basic standards of instruction, support the mission of the University and the Department, and communicate with administration, as needed.

     Teaching responsibilities will include: preparing and disseminating weekly announcements, communicating with students via e-mails, preparing course videos, moderating discussion board forums, and grading weekly. Faculty members are expected to respond to e-mails within 36 hours and to grade student’s assignments, giving substantive feedback, within 6 days of the assignment submission.

     Adjunct faculty are expected to carry out administrative responsibilities as directed by their Instructional Mentor, Faculty Support Coordinator, Online Chair, or Associate Dean. These administrative tasks include roster verification, reporting items, and timely submission of final grades, etc.
