The Opportunity

As technology continues to assume a growing primacy in more and more areas of every-day life, the underlying software that forms technology applications grows ever more critical and complex, and as such it requires ongoing assessment and improvement on a multiplicity of levels.  At Australia’s premier information technology research facility, the Monash University Faculty of IT, this necessity is one which is profoundly understood; and under the guidance of Associate Professor Burak Turhan the efficiency of software development principles is forensically scrutinised.

Associate Professor Turhan and his team engage in world-leading research in the field of empirical software engineering, understanding the big picture and linking business outcomes to software goals by increasing the productivity of software teams; the efficiency of software processes; and the quality of software products and services.  By using sophisticated predictive models the team is all about an evidence-driven approach, using qualitative and quantitative research techniques to not only improve software processes and predict future bugs, but to also provide tangible, real-world benefits such as eliminating hospital waiting queues for Australian families.

This is a fascinating area to be involved with, and for a talented Research Fellow, an opportunity to use your research and software skills to make a genuine difference.

This is a full-time position; however, flexible working conditions may be negotiated.

At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. Some positions at the University may require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.
