**A Day in the Life**

One of the key deliverables of MIDC is
an electromechanical product that will be used in a clinical setting.We are looking for a Senior systems engineer
who will work on capturing system requirements, concept design, system
modelling, risk analaysis, system.Given
the entrepreneurial nature of MIDC, this person will have to perform hands-on
work in the mechanical/systems lab.

**Must Have:**

**Minimum Requirements**

+ 5+years of experience in medical or aerospace or automotive domain with B.E.or B.Tech. in Biomedical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from areputed university.

+ Experiencewith electromechanical design and optimization of fluid circuits includingfluid mechanics, pumps, valves, heaters, sensors, fluidic connectors andtubing, together with a working knowledge of the supply base for fluidiccomponents.

+ Basicunderstanding of design of electronic devices (microcontrollers, powersupplies, programmable logic)

+ Strongunderstanding of drawings, stack-up, product data management process andtools, review process.

+ Abilityto independatly lead project / coach team memebers

+ Goodverbal/written communication skills. Ability to produce good qualitydocumentation.

+ Abilityto work in a global environment and interact with various internal andexternal stake holders.

+ Expertise with Microsoft Project, Excel,Word and PowerPoint

**Job Responsibilities**

+ Work withcustomer-facing team members (human factors and voice-of-customerspecialists) to understand user needs and convert them into high-levelproduct specifications. Develop detailed technical requirements, andensure accurate flow-down to sub-system requirements, designimplementation.

+ Discuss with systemverification engineers to ensure that the system requirements are adequateand verifiable

+ Review subsystemdrawings and specifications.

+ Coordinate the teameffort of interdisciplinary engineers (electronics, mechanical, firmware,and chemical) for design of the product and provide technical expertisefor technical tradeoff decision making.

+ Define the usecondition and use cases to develop the system features. Define the logicsand provide inputs to the software team for implementing the use cases.

+ Perform riskassessment for the product and develop risk mitigation strategies.

+ Identify applicableregulatory and industry standards and ensure product can satisfyrequirements of these standards.

+ Work withquality/reliability engineering to identify and minimize sources oftechnical and practical risk, and ensure the product meets medicaldevice-related safety standards.

+ Work with clinicaland regulatory groups to ensure the product is approved for commercial use.

**Nice to Have**

+ 3+years experience in the healthcare domain, with knowledge of medicaldevice-related standards such as ISO 13485, US FDAs 21 CFR 820, IEC60601, IEC 60068 and ISO 10993

+ Basicunderstanding of biomedical concepts (human anatomy, disease, diagnostics,therapies)

+ Workingknowledge of dialysis therapy

+ Basicunderstanding of biomedical concepts (human anatomy, disease, diagnostics,therapies)

+ Basicunderstanding of chemistry concepts (working knowledge of waterpurification technologies, including filtration, reverse osmosis, carbonbeds, and ion exchange processes)

+ Experiencein verification of medical products with involvement in multidisciplinarytechniccal challenges (electromechanical or biomedical).
