JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Berry College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in Computer Science starting August 2021. This person will have the opportunity to help shape the direction and growth of a newly designed Computer Science major. Potential interdisciplinary collaborations with the natural sciences, data science/analytics, creative technologies, or entrepreneurship are open to the new faculty member.

Teaching responsibilities include core courses in the Computer Science curriculum as well as electives in the candidate's area of interest. The ideal candidate will demonstrate aptitude and enthusiasm for teaching in a liberal arts environment, a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that attracts and sustains a diverse population of students, and a desire to contribute to the culture and development of a growing Computer Science program.

In addition to teaching, position responsibilities include developing a focused research agenda that incorporates undergraduate students.

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field. ABD candidates near completion will be considered. Review of applications will begin January 4, 2021 and continue until the position is filled. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from members of underrepresented groups and strongly encourage women and persons of color to apply for this position.
