Tenure-Track Assistant Professor or Tenured Associate/Full Professor Position in Department of Software and Information Systems at UNC Charlotte

The Department of Software and Information Systems (SIS) at the College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) at UNC Charlotte is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate/Full Professor position. Priority is given to applicants focused on cybersecurity, cyber analytics, and security of AI models. Strong candidates in all other areas of cybersecurity and privacy including social media security, social system security like the election system security, are also considered. The ideal candidate would demonstrate expertise in the areas as mentioned above, have a track record of publications, as well as have ability or potential to procure competitive external funding. 

The Department of SIS focuses on teaching and research in cybersecurity, intelligent systems, human centered design, and health informatics. SIS is in a phase of significant growth in the numbers of students, faculty, and external funding. SIS has academic programs in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Web and Mobile Applications, Human-Computer Interaction, and Software Engineering at the Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. levels. The College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC-Charlotte) has consistently been ranked among the top 100 Computer Science programs by the U.S. News.  Recently, CCI has been awarded the Annual CMD-IT University Award for Retention of Minorities and Students with Disabilities in Computer Science by the Center for Minorities and People with Disabilities in IT.

The duties and responsibilities include research and teaching in areas of strength, as well as service to the University, College, Department, and the profession. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics, or a related field, as well as a strong commitment to research and teaching. Applicants should have demonstrated achievement in original research and scholarship, demonstrated commitment to quality teaching with prior experience or potential at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as demonstrated ability to contribute to diversity initiatives.
