The Department of Computer Science at Swarthmore College invites applications for multiple Visiting Assistant Professor positions to begin Fall semester 2021. Applicants must have or expect to have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field by the position's start date. All areas of computer science will be considered. The Department also welcomes candidates who conduct interdisciplinary research in the humanities and social sciences.

The Computer Science Department currently has ten tenure-track faculty and three visiting faculty. Faculty teach introductory courses as well as advanced courses in their research areas.  Our majors and minors are much more diverse than the national averages in CS and we also have 35% female majors. We have grown significantly in both faculty and students in the last five years. Presently, we are one of the most popular majors at the College and we expect that 17% of students (70 total) graduating from the College in the 2020-21 academic year will major in Computer Science.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or expected by Fall 2021.  Applicants strong in any area of computer science will be considered.
