POSITION
Adams State University invites applications for a visiting professor position in computer science and information technology at the Visiting Assistant Professor level (position number FS8014).

POSITION DESCRIPTION
We seek energetic and enthusiastic individuals who love teaching and share our dedication to excellence. The successful applicant will join a diverse department that offers bachelor’s degrees in chemistry, mathematics, computer science and information technology. Responsibilities include teaching computer science and information technology courses across our curriculum. We are primarily an institution focused on teaching excellence, and the teaching load is comprised of 12 credit-hours each semester.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in computer science, information technology or a closely related field is required; Ph.D. is preferred. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and student-centered learning 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Commitment to valuing equity, treating cultural and linguistic diversity as assets, and promoting inclusiveness

SALARY
$50,000 to $54,000, depending upon experience, for a typical 9-month academic-year appointment. Adams State University offers a competitive benefits package.

Departmental and Campus Information
The Mathematical Sciences Program offers Bachelor of Science degrees in computer science and information technology as well as several options in traditional mathematics, physics, and secondary education.
