In the Division II - Informatics, Economy, and Society - the KIT Department of Informatics will offer as soon as possible and unlimited a W3 Professorship for Human-Computer Interaction and Accessibility at the Institute for Anthropomatics and Robotics (IAR).

The focus of the professorship is on barrier-free human-machine interfaces. A cooperation with the KIT Study Center for Visually Impaired Persons is desired.

Teaching will include the training of students of the KIT Department of Informatics. Adequate contribution to German-language teaching of basic courses is expected. This requires the willingness to learn German.

We are looking for a personality who has outstanding scientific qualifications and an excellent international reputation. Skills in the acquisition of third-party funds and the management of scientific teams are expected, as well as very good didactic skills in both basic computer science lectures and in more master courses.

KIT is an equal opportunity employer. Women are especially encouraged to apply.

Recognized severely disabled persons will be preferred if they are equally qualified.

The KIT is certified as a family-friendly university and offers part-time employment, leaves of absence, a Dual Career Service and coaching to actively promote work-life-balance.

Applications with the required documents (curriculum vitae, degree certificates as well as a list of publications) and a perspective paper (maximum of three pages) on the planned research and teaching activities and possible cooperations at KIT and a short concept for the design of research in the real-world laboratory "Digital Accessibility and Assistive Technology for People with Disabilities" (max. one page) should be sent by e-mail, summarized in a single PDF document, to dekanat@informatik.kit.edu by 07.01.2021. For enquiries regarding this specific position please contact Prof. Dr. Decker, e-mail: michael.decker@kit.edu.
