Electrical Compliance Engineer: Ensures product and production compliance to global EMI, EMC, and Safety standards. Balances multiple project loads for new product development as well as sustaining current products. Interacts with internal and external parties to make sure of conformity to standards.
Essential Job Functions:
Conduct EMI/EMC and Safety testing, provide design support, and perform analysis across a diverse range of products and technologies for global markets.
Maintain product certifications throughout the product lifecycle and fostering positive relationships with global regulatory and approval bodies.
Participate in multidisciplinary New Product Development activities to guide development with EMI/EMC and UL/Safety and provide feedback with initial pre-compliance testing using in-house equipment.
Diagnose and apply mitigations to equipment under test and provide feedback to the development team to implement changes.
Participate in the Change Control Board, assessing any consequences of product changes
Maintain production line certifications corresponding to the product certifications.
Travel is required to compliance test laboratories to support product setup and certification
Qualifications:
Training and/or Experience
4+ years of EMI/EMC Compliance work experience with radiated and conducted emissions for unintentional emitters, and radiated and conducted immunity. Including: FCC part 15, EN55032, CISPR 32, IEC 61000, IEC 62233.
4+ years of UL/Safety Compliance work experience including UL22, UL94, IEC 60335
4+ years of experience with failure analysis and troubleshooting of equipment under test
Proficient in communicating with external laboratories
Understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) principles.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or significant equivalent experience.
